Director
Srikanth Addala’s upcoming film Peddha Kapu is departure from the his customary family-friendly offerings. The action-oriented film tells the story of a common man’s rise to power in a village tired of bearing the brunt of petty politics.
Virat Karrna, a debutant, plays the impassioned young protagonist who fights against an unjust system. “I’ve always aspired to be in the film industry; I even worked on the production team of Jaya Janaki Nayaka.
Having
Srikanth Addala notice my audition tape is like a dream come true. It was my good fortune that I included some action scenes in my tape, and it turned out to be precisely what he was seeking,” says the actor, reflecting on his journey.
Virat says he visited rural areas to observe the nuances of life there in order to better understand his character. “The dialogues in the film are powerful and it gave me the scope to perform. Working alongside seasoned actors like Rao Ramesh and Tanikella Bharani was a great experience, they helped me deliver a better performance. This is the best launch anyone could’ve asked for,” he says.
Peddha Kapu is divided into two parts, “The first part will show my character’s struggles while the second will see my rise. I can’t wait to begin shooting for the next part,” says Virat, signing off.
Produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy under Dwaraka Creations, Peddha Kapu 1 releases today.
